I. Please JOIN THE CHEVALIERS DIIGO GROUP. Use your FRENCH first and last names when you sign up for the account. You sill use DIIGO to save your bookmarks for this project.

II. Find articles from  CLES JUNIOR for your research. You can also search for different topics in French by using the search bar.

Creating your Power Point

Remember that you will:

A.) Identify the issue & its importance [who/what it affects, the danger if it continues…etc]

B.) Show the seriousness of this issue through pictures, graphs, data, and specific stories or examples. Give us the facts! Give at least three different examples to back up your facts.

Then, you will explain what are important and necessary steps/actions to take in order to reach a solution to this problem. What can individuals do? What can communities or whole countries do? Will it be easy or difficult to reach a solution? [you will use the  il faut” and the subjunctive expressions

Here are some  possible topics for environement problems:

1.) Le Changement climatique (l’effet de serre, les glaciers, l’ours polaire, opinion- Vrai? Faux?, la technologie, Protocole de Kyoto, “Une Verité qui dérange,” etc.)

2.) L’Énergie (propre, sale, renouvelable, énergie indépendante, énergie solaire & énergie éolienne, utilsation du charbon, gaspillage d’électricité, etc)

3.) Le Gaspillage (décharges publiques [dumps], recyclage, culture de consommation, etc.)

4.) L’Eau (pollution, réserves, gaspillage, etc.)

5.) La Nourriture (réserves, gaspillage, consommation, distribution, végetarien v. carnivore, la chasse, etc.)

6.) La Consommation (gaspillage, nations industrialisés v. tiers monde [third world], durabilité [sustainability], etc.)

7.) La Terre (érosion, déforestation, glaciers, parcs nationaux, pollution, etc.)

8.) Les Écosystèmes, les Espèces menacées (animaux, espèces indicateures, plantes, etc.)

9.) La Santé (OGM [GMO], super-insèctes & mauvaises herbes, effets du lait de soja, etc.)

You have been selected to help create looks for a new French teen soap opera.

1. You will find ten clothing items (top, bottom, shoes, accessories) the illustrate your look.

2. You will create the collage in a single slide in PowerPoint (You will convert the file to a JPeg) and upload to the wikispace page You will upload your converted JPEG to the French III Wikispaces page

Complete the exercises from Classzone online workbook. You will choose the exercises at the average level for :

Langue et communication A: Le futur
Langue et communication B: L´usage du futur dans les phrases avec si Langue et communication C: L´usage du futur après quand
Langue et communication D: Le conditionnel 

Activity- Tâche 6- Read the tâche and complete your chart from last class period.

Even though you made a great packing list, you forgot to pack some items in your suitcase. You had to go to the store today to purchase three things you forgot to pack (something you might not need right away; like aspirin or bandaids). While you were out, you decided to buy some souvenirs as well.

Write a letter to a friend about the purchases you made. You can illustrate this with pictures if you like. This should be saved under the category of Mes Achats

·       Open your letter

·        Tell you friend that when you packed your suitcase (faire ma valise- this needs to be in passé composé), you forgot three items (you may use this Checkliste de voyage to see what you might have left behind.

·        Say that you had to buy ( J’ai dû acheté) the forgotten items and tell whether it was expensive or not. You can consult Le guide de la vie practique to get idea of what things cost in France

·        Say that you bought three souvenirs (be specific and tell what you bought and who you bought if for) You can consult Un cadeau à faire ? Que rapporter de France or Nos Régions to get idea of what you could buy in your region.   You can also check out Saveurs to get some ideas.

·        Close your letter.

Post activity- ALL tâches up to this point must be posted by Sunday midnight.

What to visit in your region

1. Go to the Internaute Regions page to see what is available in your region. Select 3-5 points of interest.

2. Go to the blog post on the regions of France and Bonjour la France and find 3-5 additional points of interest. You will be writing about what you saw, what you did, and what you purchased in these regions. Today you will just jot down the information so that you can  use it to draft your future tâches. 

3. Finalize your itinerary.   

4. Go to Routard to find further information  about your region.

Tâche 5 un Fax SNCF

Pre-Activity

Train booking information.  Go to Rail Europe  to find out which train you would take to go to one of the the destinations on your trip.

Activity

Although you can access the information online from the SNCF website, for some reason, you can not make the online reservations. You will need to send a fax to the SCNF using the instructions from the following website.

The title of this task will be your name, Tâche 5- Un fax SNCF. You will post this in the Train category

·        Navigate to   Activité 9  from the Francofiles website and follow the directions

·        Download and save the fax form Download fax_sncf.doc

·        Open your letter:  Mesdames, Messieurs

·        Give all of the required information asked for in Activité 9

·        Close your letter : Veuillez agréer, Mesdames, Messieurs, mes salutations distinguées * business letters require this special closing. Post the fax file to the Wikispace page.  Copy and paste the information as well so that it can be read without opening the file.
